Highlights

  • Clogging measured in columns from the change in filtration rate.
  • Also measured: the change in grain-size distribution of the filter medium.
  • Cause studied: suspended solids in injected solutions entering the productive horizon.

Abstract

The article discusses the effect of the concentration of suspended solids on the permeability of porous reservoirs during mechanical colmatation in the areas of underground leaching and the development of methods for preventing mechanical colmatation of reservoirs, mainly due to the introduction of suspended solids contained in injected solutions into productive horizons. The degree of clogging of porous reservoirs was determined, which was assessed not only by changing the rock filtration rate when filtering liquid containing suspended solids, but also by changing the particle size distribution of the filter media in the columns.

In plain English

The article examines how the concentration of suspended solids affects the permeability of porous reservoirs during mechanical clogging (colmatation) in in-situ leaching areas, where suspended solids in the injected solutions enter the productive horizons, and develops methods to prevent it. The degree of clogging was determined in columns, both from the change in the rate at which a liquid containing suspended solids filters through the rock and from the change in the grain-size distribution of the filter medium.
