Diplomats of Uzbekistan visited the British company Geothermal Engineering and held talks with its Director of Operations, Tony Wilson.
They briefed the British side on Uzbekistan’s reforms to raise energy efficiency and to widen the use of clean, non-traditional and renewable energy sources.
The two sides agreed to arrange talks between Geothermal Engineering and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology on producing geothermal energy and on training qualified specialists to carry out an energy project.
Why it matters
Trained specialists are one of the things Uzbekistan needs to develop geothermal energy. The talks in the United Kingdom came before later study visits abroad, such as the delegation of Uzbek energy institutions to France in November 2025.
