Khayrullo Bozorov, governor of Fergana region, met a delegation of the South Korean company GH EnA, led by its general manager, to discuss a modern greenhouse complex in the region that would run on renewable energy.
GH EnA presented technologies that use geothermal energy, heat from water and heat from the air. The company says they can cut the use of natural gas and coal in winter, make the energy supply more stable and raise crop yields.
The meeting followed up agreements reached during a visit of a Fergana regional delegation to South Korea, and focused on moving the project to a practical stage. Mr. Bozorov said he supports the initiative.
The two sides agreed to study the conditions for the project in Dang‘ara district, draw up a detailed action plan and keep working together. The size of the complex and a timetable have not been given.
