Hydrogeology institute and Swiss firm Hydrosolutions discuss a joint geothermal project

Specialists of the Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology met the Swiss company Hydrosolutions in Tashkent to discuss cooperation on geothermal energy and the next stages of a planned joint project.

On 22 October 2026, specialists of the Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology (HYDROENGEO) met representatives of the Swiss company Hydrosolutions to discuss cooperation in geothermal energy.

The Swiss side presented its experience, completed projects and approaches in geothermal energy. The two sides discussed each party’s tasks, the areas of cooperation and the next stages of a joint project they plan to carry out.

In September, Hydrosolutions discussed in Zurich with O‘zbekgidrogeologiya a project concept for using energy from shallow layers around Tashkent region. The two sides agreed then to prepare a grant project based on the concept and submit it to the Swiss development agency for funding.
