A round table of Uzbek hydrogeologists and specialists of BRGM, France’s geological survey, was held on 15 September 2026, O‘zbekgidrogeologiya reported on 24 September.
It dealt with using geothermal water sources in the cities of the Fergana Valley as a source of heat.
Why it matters
It followed BRGM’s talks at the Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology on 10 September. BRGM geologists also met Uzbekgeofizika’s Fergana Geophysical Expedition, as reported on 17 September. All concerned the valley’s geothermal potential.
