    Design institute for thermal power plants and alternative-energy facilities. It took part in Uzbekgeofizika’s meetings on the deep-well geothermal pilot in Kokand on 13 September and 15 October 2025.

Research and exploration

  1. Tashkent

    Institute of Geology and Exploration of Oil and Gas Fields (IGIRNIGM)

    State research institute for oil and gas geology, prospecting and exploration. Its researchers have studied temperatures and geothermal gradients in the Jurassic strata of the South-Western Gissar region, and its staff took part in Uzbekistan’s first international geothermal forum in February 2026.

  2. Tashkent

    Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology (HYDROENGEO)

    State research institute for hydrogeology, engineering geology and geoecology. Its specialists research geothermal waters, gave recommendations on using geothermal groundwater in February 2023, and discussed the Fergana Valley’s deep geothermal potential with BRGM and Expertise France in September 2026.

  3. Tashkent

    Kh. M. Abdullayev Institute of Geology and Geophysics

    Research institute of the Academy of Sciences. Its researchers ran a 2019–2023 project on the geophysical study of geothermal anomalies in the Kyzylkum, Hissar and Almalyk–Angren regions, and in 2025 began gravity and magnetotelluric fieldwork in search of petrothermal heat in Khorezm.

    O‘ZLITINEFTGAZ JSC

    Research and design enterprise for the oil and gas industry. It held Uzbekistan’s first international forum on geothermal energy, initiated by the International Geothermal Association, in February 2026.

  5. Tashkent

    Uzbekgeofizika JSC

    Geophysical survey company. It is preparing a feasibility study for a pilot project to use geothermal energy from groundwater in deep wells, starting with well No. 1 in Kokand.
