Highlights

  • Two zones of high heat flow in the Gulistan area.
  • Possible reservoirs at 2.5–3.5 km depth.
  • Proposed plant: binary-cycle units in 50 MW stages, up to 100 MW.

Summary

Geophysical surveys in the Gulistan area of the Gissar region found two zones of unusually high heat flow. Gravity, magnetotelluric and seismic surveys fed 3D models of the area, which point to possible reservoirs at 2.5–3.5 km.

The paper proposes binary-cycle power units, built in 50 MW stages, to reach 100 MW of steady generation. It is a research proposal, not an approved project; exploration drilling would be the next step.
