Uzbek heat-supply delegation is briefed on a Vienna housing complex to be heated and cooled with geothermal energy

A residential complex for 20,000 people will get district heating and cooling from geothermal energy and solar panels.

A delegation that included Ilhom To‘raev, chairman of the board of Issiqlik ta’minoti JSC, and specialists of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the National Energy Efficiency Agency met representatives of STC Development, part of ILF Group, in Vienna, the company reported on 25 June 2025.

The delegation was briefed on a residential complex for 20,000 people under construction in Vienna, with 60–70% energy efficiency, where residents will get district heating and cooling from geothermal energy and solar panels.

The delegation also visited a waste-to-energy trigeneration plant in Vienna and an 8 MW cooling plant built under an STC Development project. A post the day before said the trip’s main purpose was to involve international companies and consultants under presidential resolution PP-100.
