The International Finance Corporation (IFC) invited expressions of interest for a “Feasibility Assessment for Networked Ground Source Heat Pump Systems for Heating & Cooling” in Uzbekistan, procurement No. 0002014608, financed by the World Bank Group. The notice was listed on 6 March 2025.
The assignment concerns fifth-generation networked ground-source heat pump technology and deploying a networked geothermal system at a particular site in Uzbekistan, at utility scale of 10,000–30,000 housing units. The notice describes district heating in Central Asia, Uzbekistan included, as outdated and often fired by gas or coal, and says gas supplies are running low.
Expressions of interest were due on 19 March 2025.
