Issue 158 of the newspaper Yangi O‘zbekiston, published on 5 August 2025, carries an article under its “Green economy” heading titled “Geothermal energy – a new direction in generating electricity from the Earth’s heat”, the Kh. M. Abdullayev Institute of Geology and Geophysics reported the same day.
The authors are Rasuljon Sahobiddinov, head of the institute’s Lithosphere Structure Laboratory, and the laboratory’s chief researcher Irina Sidorova. According to the institute, the article covers the importance of geothermal energy today, its prospects as a renewable source, research being carried out in Uzbekistan, and the institute’s own work in the field.
