The newspaper Pravda Vostoka has published “The power of the subsoil: the future belongs to geothermal energy”, an article by Rasuljon Saxobidinov, PhD, head of the Lithosphere Structure Laboratory of the Kh. M. Abdullayev Institute of Geology and Geophysics, and the laboratory’s chief researcher Irina Sidorova, the institute reported on 25 April 2025.
According to the institute, the article covers the study of Uzbekistan’s geothermal resources, their energy potential, their role in sustainable development, and the outlook for the field in science and industry. Drawing on their research, the authors assessed heat flow, geothermal water and the heat potential of deep layers in some regions of Uzbekistan and identified promising locations.
